Gustaf Adolf Tenggren ( 1896 - 1970) était un illustrateur américano-suédois. Influencé par le style d'Arthur Rackham et dès 1917, il publie ses premières illustrations de contes de fées.

En 1920, il rejoint Cleveland aux États-Unis et en 1936, Tenggren déménage en Californie et est engagé par Walt Disney comme directeur artistique. 
Il quitte le studio en 1939, et poursuit sa carrière d'illustrateur avec 28 ouvrages publiés entre 1942 et 1962 par Golden Books, dont "Le Roi Arthur et des Chevaliers de la Table Ronde " avec un texte écrit par Emma Gelders Sterne.
Il n'est jamais revenu en Suède, Gustaf Tenggren mort en 1970 à Dogfish Head dans Southport, Maine.
